Clemson Forward Kimarni Smith - College Soccer New Men's National Player of the Week - Week Ending October 18, 2020

Kimarni Smith Senior Forward Clemson

Smith played a key role in two very impressive Tiger wins.

In Clemson's 2-1 win over Wake Forest he utilized his quickness and touch on the ball to score from inside the box after receiving a cross from teammate Grayson Barber. He also made a nice move and pass in tight quarters to set up teammate Luis Felipe Fernandez-Salvador's game-winning goal.  

In Clemson's 2-1 come from behind win in overtime against Duke he contributed the helper on teammate James Brighton's game-winning goal.

Clemson is now 4-1-0 with a 2-1-0 mark in ACC play. The Tigers now travel to Raleigh to face North Carolina State on  Friday, October 23.

Auburn Defender Sarah Houchin - College Soccer News Women's National Player Of The Week - Week Ending October 18, 2020

Sarah Houchin  Senior Defender Auburn

Houchin who is from Coppell, Texas was a key part of an Auburn defense that shutout Mississippi 1-0 at home and Georgia 1-0 in Athens.

Auburn improves to 2-0-1 and is the last unbeaten team in the SEC.

It was a team effort for an Auburn squad that played 19 players in both contests.

In regard to Houchin, Auburn head coach Karen Hoppa stated, "She really is the leader of our team as a whole and certainly our defense. Hoppa added, "She was the calm in the storm and led our team to those two victories."

Auburn will put their undefeated record on the line when they host Kentucky on Saturday, October 24.

Pitt Midfielder Veljko Petkovic - College Soccer News Men's National Player of the Week - Week Ending October 11, 2020

Veljko Petkovic Sophomore  Midfielder Pittsburgh

Petkovic has been a force on the offensive side of the ball. He scored twice in regulation and freshman Bertin Jacquesson netted the game-winner in overtime in the Panthers 3-2 win over Syracuse.

Petkovic also scored and cotributed an assist in Pitt's 4-2 win over Virginia Tech.

The Panthers are 3-0-0 and will travel to Charlottesville to face Virginia on Friday, October 16 in a crucial ACC showdown.

Pittsburgh Forward Amanda West - College Soccer News Women's National Player of the Week - Week Ending October, 11, 2020

Amanda West  Sophomore Forward Pittsburgh

West had a very productive four goal week. She is now Pitt's all-time leader in points with fifty-four. 

In the Panthers 4-3 win over Boston College she converted a penalty kick and utilized her touch on the ball and quickness to create the space she needed to send a ahot into the far corner. She also scored twice in Pitt's 4-1 win over Navy.

The Panthers improve to 8-2-0 and will host a highly regarded FSU side on Thursday, October 15 in what shapes up to be a very exciting ACC contest.
